Carve a Wooden Spoon

Trescott - Cobscook Community Learning Center - 10 Commissary Point Road

Students will create a handmade spoon using various hand-tools and one of Nature's most beautiful pieces of burled wood. Participants please bring: a good sharp knife (carving knife, crooked knife, hoof-trimming knife), sandpapers of varying grit, a dead branch with burl (if you have one; we will collect a few and have them available for a small donation). There will be some tools on hand for use/sharing during this workshop. For ages 12 and up (12 — 18 please bring consent note from parent/guardian – thanks). Instructor: Raymond Reitze, Master Maine Guide & traditional artisan. Course fee: $15 to $50. Materials fee (required): $5. Registration deadline: August 1.
