Welcome to the CulturePass Cultural Almanac Project

The CulturePass Almanac started as an idea and conversation with people in the international Passamaquoddy region.

What if, in addition to the formidable list of artists and cultural organizations assembled on the CulturePass website...what if, CulturePass could also serve as a collective resource of contemporary arts, culture, heritage, and place-based, annual and seasonal information for our region? How can we use CulturePass as a tool to connect us to each other across our borders and twenty communities and share our arts and culture with the world?

This seemed like a challenge and an opportunity!

How can we collectively pool the information from our memories, stories, and archives, which are so well kept by our historical societies and elders, and, at the same time, present our vibrant and contemporary response from 'the now', from our time here in the 21st century?

This is a not a task to do alone and we are calling on all of you for input.

The CulturePass Almanac is a place to share your stories about our particular place--the international Passamaquoddy region, Planet Earth.

The Almanac is organized by season and will highlight pieces of our historic and contemporary lives. Your offerings will be shared on the Almanac web site and become part of a yearly publication. You can enter information into the almanac and be credited or if you would prefer, you can also remain anonymous.

Please share your art, writing, images and music, stories, folklore form winter and summer, land and sea, weather lore, garden/farming, health and home tips, food preparation/preserving ways, holiday observances, nature and outdoors tips, leisure and amusement stories!

The CulturePass Almanac will be about the things that make our region distinctive, important and special. What makes it this way for you?
